• VivoPower has invested US$30 million into Doppler Finance as the initial phase of an ambitious US$200 million XRP treasury yield program.
  • The partnership establishes Doppler as a leader in institutional-grade XRPfi, providing companies with opportunities to earn yields on their XRP holdings.
  • Ripple has expanded its strategic partnership with Thunes to transform cross-border payments globally, building on their successful 2020 collaboration.
  • Despite these positive developments, XRP has declined 6% over the past week to US$2.81 as investors await regulatory decisions on XRP-based ETFs.

Nasdaq-listed VivoPower has deployed US$30 million (AU$45.9 million) into Doppler Finance as the first step in an ambitious US$200 million (AU$306.3 million) XRP treasury yield programme.

The partnership positions Doppler as a leader in institutional-grade XRPfi, offering companies a path to earn yields on XRP holdings.

Rox Park, Head of Korea at Doppler Finance, said in a press release that they were “proud to have signed this definitive partnership agreement with VivoPower”, adding that they looked forward to “working closely with them as they build out their digital asset treasury and decentralised finance solutions strategy in South Korea”.

Park emphasised the role of XRP and the RLUSD stablecoin, stating:

“We are confident that our platform will be able to deliver on their yield enhancement objectives with regard to XRP, and, in the future, the RLUSD stablecoin as well.”

Kevin Chin, Executive Chairman and CEO of VivoPower, explained that the collaboration will allow VivoPower to leverage Doppler’s infrastructure to maximise reserves while maintaining XRP as a core treasury asset.

With South Korea holding around 20% of XRP’s US$30 billion circulating supply, Chin stressed the market’s significance for VivoPower’s broader digital asset and DeFi strategy. He added that the partnership will also enable participation in key growth areas such as stablecoin remittances, tokenisation of real-world assets, and DeFi lending.

Ripple Deepens Strategic Partnership

In other news, Ripple, the company behind XRP, has just announced that they are expanding a partnership with Thunes in a bid “to transform cross-border payments globally”.

In a press release, Thunes said the move would build on a successful partnership established in 2020 to “improve the customer payout experience, further streamline global money movement and broaden payout reach across key markets”.

Thunes enables fast, reliable local-currency payouts through its global network. It is also integrating Ripple Payments into its SmartX Treasury System to further enhance operations.

XRP barely reacted to these positive developments and is now down 6% over the past week, currently trading at US$2.81 (AU$4.30), as investors await a decision by regulators about XRP-based ETFs in the US.
