A futuristic way to watch sports is becoming a reality. The Brooklyn Nets, a top NBA team with leading players such as Kevin Durant and James Harden, has become the first professional sports team in the U.S. to enter the metaverse and stream their basketball matches through 360-degree VR technology.

The Brooklyn Nets launched a state-of-the-art video system that has already been used to deliver all of the action of the team’s last game against the New Orleans Pelicans in 3D VR.

The Barclays Center, Nets’ home court, is the first stadium in the U.S. to install this technology to provide fans with new ways to watch and enjoy NBA matches.

In the “Netaverse,” fans will be able to position themselves anywhere on the court by use of more than 100 high-resolution surrounding video cameras that create a 360° VR experience.
